Who We Are
Urban Defensive Solutions is a U.K.-based self-defence training business delivering practical self-protection training to women and men across the whole of the U.K. We work with people who want real skills that can be applied immediately, not years of traditional martial arts progression.
We offer intensive boot camps in the beautiful Northumberland area, one-to-one training nationwide, advanced training courses and instructor training with ongoing business support. Every programme is built around practical application and realistic scenarios.
We do not teach martial arts in the traditional sense. Our clients are not looking to spend seven years working towards a black belt. They want effective training that reflects how quickly the U.K. is changing. Our self-defence system has been tried and tested over many years and is designed specifically for real-world violence, not sport competition. The focus is simple. Clear thinking. Fast reactions. Practical protection.
Leadership, Experience and Vision
Urban Defensive Solutions is led by JSP, head instructor and owner, who brings over thirty five years of experience in the self-defence industry. In his early years, he achieved a number of high-ranking black belts in different systems. However, he began to question how effective sport-based techniques truly were in violent, unpredictable situations.
He went on to train with some of the best self-defence specialists in the world, including former special forces personnel. This experience reshaped his understanding of real-world violence. At just eighteen years old, he worked the doors, placing himself on the front line of conflict and gaining first-hand experience of how quickly situations escalate.
He later worked in the specialist security industry as a team leader, close protection specialist and surveillance operator, protecting high net worth individuals. His vision now is clear. To teach as many people as possible how to protect themselves and their loved ones with confidence and clarity.
